Susie Cobbs Davis, 105, the youngest of nine children, was born to the union of the late Frank and Lydia Cobbs in Bedford County, Virginia. She entered eternal rest on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Davis; a son, Lowell Davis; a daughter-in-law, Marie Davis; two sons-in-law, Linwood Scott Jr. and Carlton Ferguson. She is survived by two sons, Willie W. Davis of Washington, D.C., and Carol Davis (Alma) of Greensboro, N.C.; six daughters, Gertrude Scott, Jean Ferguson, Jeanette Scott, Betty Harris, Evelyn Higginbotham (Wallace) and Peggy Ferguson (Rodney); a daughter-in-law, Catherine Davis all of Lynchburg; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is grateful for the care of their loved one that was provided by Heartland Health and Rehabilitation Center. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Altha Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the residence, 313 Wyndale Drive on Friday, February 23, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. The cortege will assemble at the church.
