Vera Janelle Banks, 81, of Guymon went to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, February 20, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon. The daughter of J.E. and Nellie (Fullbright) Sluder, she was born October 29, 1936 in Gruver, Texas.

Janelle and Carl A. Banks were united in marriage on June 1, 1957 in Gruver, Texas. They returned to Guymon in 1976 from Borger, Texas. Janelle was a homemaker and had worked as a CNA for several hospitals. She was a member of the Panhandle Bible Center, where she loved to play the organ and piano. She also enjoyed making many different items for family and friends by crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Nellie Sluder.

Survivors include her loving husband, Carl Banks of the home; two daughters: Brenda Kaiser of Guymon and Linda Gutierrez of Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Steven Banks of Goodwell, Oklahoma. She is also survived by four grandchildren: David Kaiser of Guymon, Rose Banks of Goodwell, Lisa Gutierrez and Gilbert Gutierrez, IV both of Phoenix, Arizona; along with seven great grandchildren: Jekorey, Ania, Jordan, Chloe, De’Shawn, Ty’esha and Selina.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, February 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Panhandle Bible Center with Rev. Harold Bollinger and Nick Gift officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartville Cemetery, SE of Hardesty, OK.
