Dianne was a 1954 graduate of Mansfield High School. It was there that she became smitten with fellow Mansfield Lion Larry Waggoner, and they later married in Kansas. They were blessed with one son, Larry Jr., and two daughters, Mary Ann (along with her husband Charles) and Cyndi. She was further blessed with three grandchildren – Chase D. Waggoner and his wife Sara, Lane Waggoner, and Michelle Martin and her fiancé Brandon Thornberry. She adored Larry, her children, and her grandchildren, and was the ultimate example of Christ-like love, servanthood, and grace to them throughout her entire life. Family was of utmost importance to Dianne, and nothing brought her more joy than when she was together with Larry, her kids, and her grandkids under one roof.
In the mid-1950s, Larry and Dianne owned a grocery store and service station together in Mansfield where she could haul and chisel 50-pound blocks of ice and fix a flat tire in a jiffy. She and Larry moved from Mansfield to Springfield in 1956 where Larry served the community as a policeman and Dianne served her family as a full-time stay-at-home mother. In February 1960, they settled in their current home of Lebanon where Dianne kept the books for the family business, Brazeal Oil Company / Waggoner Transportation. Any time the school doors were open, Dianne was also actively serving as a PTA member, band officer, and homeroom mom.
Dianne had many gifts including her ability to find positivity and joy in all things, and she worked and lived with unrivaled faith. In her younger years, she and Larry enjoyed drive-in movies, golfing, and flying in Larry’s Beechcraft Bonanza. Later, she especially enjoyed going on cruises with her family, listening to gospel sings, and worshipping with the fellowship of Phillipsburg Christian Church.
When her husband Larry was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, she was the model of complete care and devotion at home and was present for every doctor, radiation, and chemotherapy appointment. Later when Dianne was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, she and Larry faced their personal battles against cancer the way they did everything else in their lives – together. When she grew weaker, she was completely and lovingly cared for by her husband Larry, as well as her children.
