Hattie Wilson was born in Nebraska in 1880 to Charles and Susie Wilson. The family was residing in Pasadena, CA according to the 1900 census. Hattie was working in hairdressing at the age of 17 and learned her trade in Madame Weaver Jackson's before moving to Frederickson's in 1913. In 1916 she did some work for Triangle Films, including gaining some fame for dressing Dorothy Dalton in A Flame of the Yukon. By 1919 she had been brought to the attention of Cecil B. DeMille and was soon under exclusive contract to Famous Players Lasky (unheard of at this time). She worked with all the stars at Lasky/Paramount including Gloria Swanson, Pola Negri, Bebe Daniels and Rudolph Valentino. She gave birth to her son Charles Le Roy Tabourne in 1909 and married her common law husband George Le Roy Tabourne in 1916. She passed away on March 30, 1925 during surgery for removal of cancerous tumors. She was interred with her mother Susie. Tragically, her son who suffered from polio survived her by five months.
