Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, December 4, 2017, at Westside Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Brent Duncan and William Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Morgan was born January 26, 1925, in Richardson, West Virginia, to the late Simon & Laura Kerby Whytsell. During World War II, she worked building aircraft in Ohio. She worked as a foster grandmother with the Calhoun County, West Virginia and the Ben Hill County Board of Education. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed farming and growing flowers. She loved anything that bloomed. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara & Jack Goodman of Williamsburg, West Virginia and Ruth Wilson of Fitzgerald; two stepchildren and their spouses; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Kathryn Ladd of Cutler, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Asa Calvin Wilson; her second husband, Arthur Hiram Morgan; a step-daughter, Helen Scarpellini; a step-son, Ron Morgan; brothers: Elba Whytsell, Harry Whytsell, Simon Whytsell, Jr., Jake Kerby, Fred Kerby, Lorie Kerby, Noah Whytsell, John Whytsell, Howard Brent Whytsell, Eugene Whytsell and Kose Whytsell and sisters: Louise Neviett, Ruby Wallbrown, Edna Grant, Freda Gandee, Tressie Morgan, Indrea Mullenax, Eleanor Starcher, Annie Whytsell and Jewell Marsh.
