Raymond Lloyd Jarboe, 89, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Bradford Village in Edmond, Oklahoma.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 23, at First Baptist Church in Pryor, Ok with Reverend David Jarboe officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Pryor Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. at Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care. Memorials may be made to the Mayes County Fair Board.
Raymond was born on April 11, 1928 to Carl and Isal (Sherman) Jarboe in Lexington, OK. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1946. He joined the United States Army in 1946 where he served until 1948. In 1950 he married, his wife of 68 years, Freeda Mae King of Purcell, Ok. He worked as a Farm Supervisor at the Ok State Penitentiary in McAlester, OK before moving to Pryor in 1953 where he Supervised the farm for Whitaker State Children’s Home until his retirement in 1983. Raymond’s activities outside of work included Past President of Pryor Quarterback Club, Mayes County Fair Board, and Mayes County Cattleman’s Association. He was part owner in JHM Cattle Company with friends James Hester and Dick McNair. He was a member of Pryor First Baptist Church since 1953 where he served as an usher, Mr. Fix It, and deacon for over fifty years. He enjoyed quail hunting, woodworking, raising cattle and show pigs, gardening, and playing dominoes. Raymond enjoyed watching Pryor athletics. He loved following Steve and his grandsons’ games and pig shows regardless of the location. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his wife Freeda Mae, of Bradford Village, Edmond OK; his daughter Debi Rae (Jarboe) Walstad and her husband Joe, of Edmond, OK, his son Steven Mack and his wife, Melanie, of Pryor, OK; four grandchildren, Kristin Remington and her husband Bryan of Edmond, OK, Katherine Dickinson and her husband Grady of Yukon, OK, Cody Jarboe and his wife Courtni of Stillwater, OK, and Brady Jarboe of Stillwater, OK; one great-grandchild, Jake Raymond Jarboe of Stillwater, OK; sister Mildred Hall and her husband Richard of Norman, OK, brother, Carl Jay Jarboe and his wife Jan of Rush Springs, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Isal (Sherman) Jarboe, two brothers, Robert Jarboe, Wayne Jarboe, three sisters, Francis Childers, Euna Kluge, and Doris Watkins.
