He was born on March 16, 1948 and was a self-employed pulpwood operator for many years. He was a member and Deacon of Pentecostal Church of God in Lumber City, GA . He was preceded in death by his wife Verna Jean Gloster Powell.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Bernice Powell and Monica Powell (BoBo) both of Homerville, Bertha Powell, Timika Revis (Larry, Jr.), and Sheila Smallwod (John) all of Waycross, a son, Will Powell of Adel, 30 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 3 brothers and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Saturday (February 24, 2018) at Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Music Funeral Home.
