Leon Merritt Burrill, 84, of Yakima died at his home.
Mr. Burrill was born in Hawley, Minn., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lawyer and ran for Congress in Hawley before moving to Yakima in 1953. He was a teacher at West Valley High School and retired in 1981.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ann Ekman and Kristie Burrill, both of Seattle, Bonnie Jacobson of St. Louis and Laurie Renecker of Portland; seven grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
A Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Central Lutheran Church, 1604 W. Yakima Ave. Keith & Keith Funeral Home, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.
