Joe Raymond Fry, 63, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born March 5, 1955 in that same hospital to Gilbert Raymond Fry and Alpha Amelia Pennington Fry.
Joe was a 1972 graduate of Putnam City West. After graduation he started work in the fast food industry, ending his career at Braum’s. He liked to be called by his nickname “Sodajerk” because of his many years at Braum’s fixing ice cream and fountain desserts. He used to like to ride his bicycle back and forth to work and enjoyed his life in Bethany. The last few years he was a resident of Superbia Retirement Center, where he enjoyed many friends, both fellow residents and staff. Joe lived most of his life alone, except for a period of about 10 years which he spent with a significant other in Wilma Richards, who he lost in 2014.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents: Gilbert R. Fry and Alpha Amelia Fry Atteberry, and his brother Gilbert S. Fry.
He is survived by his other brother Michael Fry and his wife Rose of Oklahoma City and their children Maya and Mason. He’s also survived by Michael’s daughter and Joe’s niece, Phuong Nguyen of Dallas and her five children: Sally, Cindy, Sony, William, and Lisa and her husband Khoa of Tyler, TX and their four children: Lyna, Lylie, Laila, and Noble.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, with interment at Yukon Cemetery.
