Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Beck for 59 years;
Loving mother of Bev (Robert) Gardner of Penn Hills, and Jeannie (Dennis) Flinko of Plum Boro;
Proud grandmother of Jim (Maria) Gardner, Janette Gardner, Jeffery (Amy) Gardner, Sarah (David) DeIuliis and Kelsey Flinko and great-grandmother of Eddie Herskovitz, Ethan Gardner, Sydney Gardner, and Claire Gardner;
Cherished sister of Nancy (the late Pete) Payne, and Patricia Ellison. She is preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Krusey
Ruth attended Nursing School at West Penn to begin her 32 year career of caring for others. She worked as a nurse at McKeesport Hospital ER, Westinghouse Air Break Co. (WABCO, where she met her husband Ken), and West Penn Hospital as the Director of Ambulatory Care. Ruth also loved spending time with and taking care of her furry companion, Tabby the cat.
Friends welcome on Saturday 5-8 PM and Sunday 2-8 PM at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Turtle Creek/Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave. at James St., Turtle Creek 412-823-9350. Ruth's funeral service will be held on Sunday at 8 PM to conclude her visitation. She will then be laid to rest privately in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
