Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, Cheryl went to be with the Lord because of an extended illness with lupus disease. She was surrounded by her loving family at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Clarence E. Burger; and extended family members. She is survived by her husband of 52 years and the love of her life, Larry T. Pierce; son, Jason (Michelle) Pierce; her grandchildren, Harrison, Lynley and Anderson Pierce; mother, Audra Baswell Burger; sister, Debbie Burger (Donny) Pruitt; and family and friends names mentioned in the obituary. Cheryl was a 1967 graduate of Gadsden High School and 1968 graduate of Alabama School of Trades in Cosmetology. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. Cheryl enjoyed working with the children in the Preschool Sunday School class and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was employed by Etowah Baptist Foundation and retired from Etowah County Medical Society and Physicians Who Care after 18 years of devoted service.
