She was a member of Stokesland United Methodist Church. She was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in WWII. She was a member of the American Legion Post 325.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Lee Allen: a son, Jerry Lee Allen: a brother, Leonard Phinney: a sister, Ruth P. Woods. Survivors include a son, Ronald M. Allen; a daughter, Judith Elaine Allen; two grandchildren.
