Mrs. Knight was born July 28, 1935 in Oswegatchie, the daughter of the late Charles M. and Marjorie V. (Seaman) Myers. She graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School. She married Spencer E. Knight on July 18, 1970 at Lowville Baptist Church. Mr. Knight died on July 10, 2000.
She is survived by her four children, Michael H. Kampney; Stephanie (Ray) McCloud; Sylvester “Bill” (Cathy) Alexander; and Aden Knight; her eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Mary) Myers; Alan Stevens; nieces and nephews; and two step daughters.
Dottie is predeceased by, her brothers, David (Nancy) Myers, and, Leslie D. Stevens, her sister, Bonnie (Don) Colton.
Dorothy was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, Harrisville. She completed Formation for Ministry at the St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg on September 6, 2003. Dottie loved crocheting, was an avid reader and submitted articles to the Journal & Republican.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home. A graveside service for Dorothy M. “Dottie” Knight will be on Tuesday, May 8th at 9:30 A.M at Martinsburg Cemetery with Rev. Howard J. Venette, Pastor of St. Bartholomew’s, Old Forge, officiating. Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
