Jo Mann Jordan, 77 of Brunswick and formerly of Jesup, died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. The Tifton native had lived in Wayne County most of her life and recently moved to Brunswick to be near her daughter. Mrs. Jordan was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick and former member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Jesup where she played the organ for many years. Jo, also known as “Mother Nature” and “Mama Jo” was a wonderful biology teacher at Wayne County High School. Her lifelong love for the earth and its inhabitants was shared with many students and friends. Her love for art, music and needle crafting were favorite pastimes. She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Ed Jordan and a favorite aunt and uncle, Effie and J.B. Helms.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Dade Brantley of Brunswick, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Carolyn Jordan of Augusta, Ga.; 4 grandchildren, Maggie and Noah Brantley, Benjamin and Hugh Jordan; a sister-cousin, Ann Hamilton of Arabi.

Memorial services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick with Father Alan Akridge officiating. Inurnment will be in the chapel columbarium.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Honey Creek(Georgia Episcopal Retreat Center) at Honey Creek, 299 Episcopal Conference Road, Waverly, Ga. 31565 or www.honeycreek.org.
