Cecilia Ann Brown was born on February 15, 1939 to Ellen (Bergan) and Vencle Janousek in Ludell, Kansas. She passed away February 2, 2018 at Regional Medical Hospital in Kearney. The family moved to the family farm southwest of Trenton, where she attended Districts #16, #38 and #60 country schools, during her grade school years. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1957. She then attended McCook Junior College for two years.

On April 4, 1959, she married DeWayne “Pepper” Brown in Englewood, CO. To this union three sons were born.

They moved back to the Trenton area where she was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Trenton and was active in St. James Altar Society. She was also a member of the Firemen’s Auxiliary and Pan Handlers Club. She was employed as an aide at Trenton Elementary School and also was the office manager for the Nebraska Extension Service in Hitchcock County. She enjoyed doing crafts and was an accomplished seamstress. She spent many hours tending her flower garden.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Vencle and Ellen Janousek; her husband, DeWayne Brown; and son, Terry Lee Brown.

Left to mourn her passing are two sons, Randy Joe Brown of Trenton and Denis Merle Brown of Grove, OK; three grandsons, Joshua, Zane and Dustin; one granddaughter, Cedar; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Dixson of Denver, CO, Regina Thomas of Santee, CA, Rita (Jerry) Stupka, Barbara (Dave) Lykins all of Trenton, Margaret (Thomas) Brown of Ludell, KS, Charlotte Janousek of Mitchel, Shawna (Dave) Meguire, Tucumcari, NM, Denise (Brian) Marquette of Sutherland; and four brothers, Larry of Benkelman, Philip (Annalea), Jerry (Jaynee) all of Trenton, and Richard (Phyllis) of Colby, KS; sister-in-law, Audrey Brown of Lakewood, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel, Trenton, NE.

Rosary will be recited Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 8, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Christopher Miller as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Trenton.
