On Jul 21 1883 Lewis married twice widowed Annabella Wright Read Inman. The 1901 census found the pair living with the family of Lewis' son Robert in a 15 room home on their 75 acre farm in Cape Travers. The residents were Robert (b:4-27-1856), Mary ("Minnie") (b:8-21-1858), Josephine Davis (b:10-16-1884), Lewis Harrison (b:1-20-1888), father Lewis (b:4-21-1814) and the step-mother Annabella (b:8-11-1821).
