Shannon K. Thompson, 53, of Kearney died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at his home.
Born in Kearney, Nebraska on December 30, 1964 to Mary Sue "Susie" Horton Thompson and the late Donald Courtney "Don" Thompson.
Memorial services will be Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Kearney. Mother Stephanie Swinnea will officiate. Interment of cremains will be in the church columbarium.

Shannon was born December 30, 1964 in Kearney to Don and Susie Thompson. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1983 then attended Kearney State College.
He worked at Tollefsen-Elliott Lumber Company where he sold Anderson Window then worked at BD Construction then was a self-employed construction manager until retiring for health reasons.
He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. He liked traveling, enjoyed aviation, boating and loved to learn and teach.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Susie Thompson of Kearney; brothers Blain Thompson and wife Karen of Johnson Lake, NE and Stafford Thompson and wife Jeanie of Yankton, SD. He is also survived by aunt, Judy Thompson of Chicago and Sharon Howe and husband Mark of Los Gatos, CA along with several nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2006.
