Charles R. Joyce, Jr., 93, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Glens Falls Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Bronx, NY, Charles attended CBA and was a lifelong Capital District resident.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.

He owned, with his father, the C.R. Joyce & Son Roofing and Sheetmetal Co. and then continued his trade as Joyce & Co. with his son Daniel. Among his proudest accomplishments was the roof restoration project of Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.

He was a Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion Blanchard Post in Delmar and the American Legion Post in Voorheesville.

Charles enjoyed fly fishing for trout and smallmouth bass.

Charles was the husband of the late Florence Decker Joyce; father of Kathleen Redmond (William) of Ridgewood, Charle A. Phillips of Ballston Lake, Charles R. Joyce, III (Marygrace) of Queensbury, Patricia Mary Garrett (Thomas) of Saratoga Springs, Debra Callaci (Jack) of Cranston, RI and Daniel Joyce (Patricia) of Voorheesville; brother of Virginia Collen of Guilderland. He was also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

All other services will be private at the convenience of the family.
