Andrew Clarence ‘Andy’ Jordan, 85, of Moultrie, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Born June 11, 1928, in Cordele, Ga., he was the son of the late James Andrew Jordan and Hattie Lawson Jordan.

He retired from the United States Army as a master sergeant and was a World War II veteran. He was also a retired sales representative with the Canter Shoe Company. He was director of the Colquitt County Food Bank for 25 years.

He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, R.A. youth leader and choir member. He also taught Sunday school at the Moultrie Fire Department for more than 20 years, and was a former Colquitt County Man of the Year.

He was an avid Packer Football fan, and held a reserved seat for more than 50 years. He was one of the original founders of the Colquitt County Packer Booster Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Jackson Jordan; a brother, Hugh Jordan; and a sister, Cornelia Nesbitt.

Survivors include one son, Creg Jordan and wife Denise of Gainesville, Fla.; one brother, David Jordan and wife Gerry of Albany; his adopted family, Joey and Rhonda Tucker and their children, Joel, Janna, Julia and Jake, all of Moultrie; a special niece, Michele Allegood of Moultrie; and several other nieces and nephews.
