Teresa Byrd Voges, Passed January 22, 2018 at around 4:15 PM

Born on July 12, 1960 (she was 57 years old), she was smart and beautiful to all that knew her well. A high school honors graduate from Lufkin, Texas, she immediately entered the work force with all her might. Teresa hardly ever had only one job. And although she was dedicated to her main employment as Manager of Loan Express in Seguin, Texas, she often held two and three jobs to better herself and take advantage of her limitless energy. In 2010, she returned to night school and completed her BA while holding a fulltime job and a part-time commitment. Her work ethic and dedication to a job well done is a tribute to her wonderful character.

Her work transferred her from Houston to San Antonio around 1988. Soon thereafter, she met and married the love of her life Jerry Voges and they married March 14, 1992. From that marriage came a son, Jarret Casey Voges, now twenty years old, creating a very close family.

Many will remember the times that Jarret played junior golf and Teresa and Jerry were locked hand in hand walking the fairways enjoying their love of their son and each other.

Horses became her passion at an early age and her mother gave her a Quarter Horse for high school graduation. Her horsemanship drove her to team penning for pleasure and a Board membership on the Comal County Fair and Rodeo along with her Director and long-time Arena Boss husband, Jerry. Both retired from those positions a few years back, but they enjoyed and spent many volunteer hours serving the Comal County Fair and Rodeo.

Her survivors include her husband Jerry Voges, her son Jarret Casey Voges, her mother Bonnie Byrd, a brother James William “Bill” Byrd, and her mother-in-law Gloria Voges.

Now, she will join “Portmaster”, “D-Man”, and “Mikey”, and hopefully have time to do a little more horse training. Good luck cowgirl! “Adios” says Jerry.

The Family would request that contributions be made in Teresa’s name to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

There will be a service on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11 AM at Oakwood Baptist Church with a reception at Freiheit Country Store following the service.
