Cynthia "Cindy" R. Chadwick age 64 of Adrian, MO died February 10, 2018 at her home.

Cindy was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 16, 1953. She was the 5th of a large family of ten. Her father was Charles J. Manns and her mother was Minnie A. (Canida) Ward. Cindy grew up in Merriam. She attended Hocker Grove Elementary and Jr. High in Merriam, Kansas.

After high school, she married John Patti, and moved to Chicago, Illinois, and they had two daughters, Sherry and Michelle. The marriage later ended.

Cindy and her two daughters moved to Kansas. She met Dale Chadwick and they were united in marriage in 1984. Together they had two sons, Wesley and Wade. The family of six settled in Henson, Kansas. Cindy was a stay at home mom and cared not only for her children but friends of her children. Often being considered a second mom to them.

The need arose for her to move to Adrian, MO to care of her Aunt Elsie Stout. She was a caregiver until Elsie’s passing but continued to reside in Adrian. She also cared for other family and friends during their final stages of life. She had a heart of gold and found her purpose in caring for others. When her grandchildren were born she made sure she was present.

Cindy loved her children and grandchildren. She had a deep faith and showed it by her collections of crosses. She had a lot of friends. She was outgoing, funny, loving, and kindhearted. Cindy loved John Prine and listening to his music. She had a great sense of humor. Cindy was a good cook and always had food on the table when Dale came home from work. Her famous dishes include mac and cheese and fried potatoes. Dale loved her beans and cornbread. Cindy and Dale rode motorcycles when they were younger. Cindy had a great love for her dog, Batman.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Patti, granddaughter Liberty Grace, her parents, two brothers, Jim (Tonie) Manns and David Manns and two sisters, Terry Ward and Becky Ward.

Survivors include husband of 33 years Dale of the home, daughter Sherry Patti and husband Scott Prather of Plainfield, IL, 2 sons Wesley Chadwick and significant other Karlena Davis of Oklahoma and Wade Chadwick of the home. Four grandchildren, Austin Schettko, Alyssa, Lila, and Tyler Prather. Three brothers Fred (Dorothy) Manns of Independence, MO and Joe (Connie) Manns of Pittsburg, KS and Mike Ward of Paola, KS and two sisters Charlene (Bob) Bennett of Garnett, KS and Patty Ward of Climax Springs, MO. And many nieces, nephews and other friends.

Cremation
Visitation: 1-3 pm February 23, 2018 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home followed by
Graveside: 3:30 pm at Lane Cemetery
