George H. Banks, Jr., 56, was stricken at his home, 1312 Riverview Ave., Thursday and taken to Delaware Division, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had been under treatment for a heart ailment, his family said.
Mr. Banks, a former Wilmington magistrate had been employed as a inspector by the New Castle County Engineers Office for three years. He als conducted a general insurance business.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church and the Bedford Club.
An active Mason, Mr. Banks was a member of Corinthian Lodge No. 20, AF&AM, the Delaware Consistory, the Nur Temple and the Shrine Club of Delaware.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillian Todd Banks; a son, George H. III, at home; his father, George H. Sr. of Wilmington; two brothers, James E. of Wilmington and Alfred J of Carrcroft, and a sister, Miss Marion I. Banks of Wilmington.
Services will be Monday morning at 11 from the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 24th and Market Sts., with interment in Riverview Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
