Elmer W. Pierson, 70, of 2913 Market St., died this morning at Delaware Division after a short illness.

A lifelong resident of Wilmington, Mr. Person was a retired insurance agent with the Courtland E. Pierson Insurance Co., a business founded by his father. He had been associated with the firm many years before his retirement.

Mr. Pierson was a veteran of World War I and a member of Post 615 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Naomi Rebekah Lodge No. 3, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Delaware Swedish Colonial Society.

Mr. Pierson never married. He is survived by two brothers, J. Lewis Pierson of the Market Street address and Robert K. Pierson of Wilmington, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel M. Draine and Mrs. Dorothea McClure, both of McDaniel Heights.

Services will be tomorrow morning at 11 from the McCrery Funeral Home, 2700 Washington St., where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
