Mr. Martin was born August 1, 1938 in Pickens, SC, son of the late Furman J. Martin and Mary Lois Dillard Martin. He served in the United States Air Force for twenty years followed by fifteen years at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a Mason for fifty years at Old Fort Lodge #420, Summerville and a Shriner with Omar Shrine Temple of Mt. Pleasant for thirty five years.
Surviving is one granddaughter: Ivy M. Maddox of Inman, SC. He was predeceased by two sons: Ivey K. Martin, Jr. and Richard Clay Martin and two sisters: Helen Janet Martin and Mardena Martin Spivey.
