Robert Wallace Decker was born in Omaha Nebraska and moved to California at the age of 12. He was a soloist for the Bob Mitchell Boys Choir. He worked in motion pictures, radio, made recordings with Eddie Cantor and played in theaters throughout California. He served for 3 years as a staff sergeant radio operator and gunner on an Air Force B-24. When he returned from the war, he did engagements with Tommy Dorsey's band and with Mel Torme's Mel-Tones, and also studied music with Dr Norman S Wright. In 1949 he married Darla Hood, a child actress in Our Gangs- Little Rascals after meeting at a church barn dance. They formed a quintet called Darla and the Enchanters. The group sang in many movies, made recordings and appeared with Ken Murray's "Blackout" in Hollywood.Their marriage ended in 1957. In 1958, he married Patricia Lynne Rush. He was a loving father to 3 children and 9 grandchildren.
