They had two sons and three daughters. Herbert Asher died on September 30, 1970.
On May 25, 1974, Lela Asher and Robert Lee Dietz were married in Jeffersonville, Indiana, by Justice of the Peace James R. McDonough. (Certificate 74-019420).
They remained married until Robert Dietz' death on December 16, 1994.

Lela M. Asher Dietz, 75, of Road 550W died at noon Monday, March 10, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Asher had been a laundromat attendant at Benzol Cleaners and was a member of AARP and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Barbara Grace officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County.
Born in Columbus Dec. 25, 1927, Mrs. Dietz was the daughter of Charles E. and Violet Hitch Pittman. She married Herbert E. Asher Feb. 28, 1947, and Robert L. Dietz May 25, 1974.
Survivors include a son of Bryan, Ohio; two daughters of Columbus; a stepson of Dinwiddie, Va.; two stepsons of Petersburg, Va.; and a fourth stepson of Colonial Heights, Va.; a sister of Indianapolis and another of Limestone, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband on Sept. 30, 1970; her second husband on Dec. 16, 1994; a son, Dennis R. Asher; a daughter Imiri Kay Asher; sisters, Edith Hettinger and Janet Rosier; and a stepson John E. Deitz.
