Thomas L. Hurst
Ellendale - Thomas L. Hurst, age 65, of Ellendale, DE, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Wilmington, one of ten children of the late Leon S. and Anna E. Hurst. Tommy was a graduate of Christiana High School and had just retired in July after working for multiple years in the HVAC field. Tommy enjoyed doing projects around his home and spending time with his grandbabies.
Tommy will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Nancy Smith; his sons Tommy Hurst and Josh Hurst (Donna); his stepdaughters Jennifer Laskowski (Tom) and Amber Smith; his grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored, Nathan, Benjamin, Thomas, and Hayden; his siblings, Wayne Hurst (Sandra), Pamela Carmine (Robert), Vivian Moore, and Betti Bentley (Elijah); and many members of his large extended family, especially his nephew Tony.
In addition to his parents, tommy was preceded in death by his siblings, Buddy Hurst, Theda Peco, Ramona Marvel, Faye Teel, and Brenda Roeper.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 12:30 pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call after 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Ellendale Cemetery.
