Married ? Stevens; married Squire A. Willard. Several descendants said they believe she and second husband were buried in unmarked graves in a yard in Garrison. But Contributor #47116079 supplied a burial in Bristol, Tennessee for Squire Willard. The question now is whether even Tabitha is buried where reported, but unmarked. If she is not, than the designation of Willard Cemetery should be deleted, and this ancestor of many of Garrison area residents should be changed to Burial Details Unknown.

****************************************************************************************

Talitha Cumi Rockhold was the daughter of unknown parents.

Suggested parentage is as follows:

1). Lloyd & Elizabeth (Buck) Rockhold, per various internet websites and Familysearch.org.

She was married twice:

(1) Henry Isaac Stevens on 30 Dec 1832 in Carter County, Tennessee. God blessed this married with the following children: M V, Francis Marion, Louisa Jane, and Henry Isaac, Jr.

(2) Squire J Willard on 20 Aug 1846 (note: Christian County was created in 1859) in Christian County, Missouri. God blessed this marriage with the following children: Daniel David and James Martin.

ACTUAL PLACE OF INTERMENT IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME.

Suggested edit: Her name was Talitha, not Tabitha. It was spelled Tilitha on her marriage record with Henry Stephens and Talitha on their son Henry's death certificate. There are various spellings on census records, some with the middle initial C. Her full name was supposedly Talitha Cumi, though I haven't seen any record to back that up. The phrase "talitha cumi" is Aramaic. It is from the Bible (Mark 5:41), which says that Jesus said that to a resurrected girl, meaning "little girl, arise."

Sorry, I forgot to include one more edit and it won't let me do it now. Her maiden name was Rockhold, not Rockholt. I have been researching the Rockholds. Like many names, you see misspellings in some records, but the correct spelling for them was definitely Rockhold.
