John S. Prettyman, 48, formerly of Delaware City, died Sunday in Cook County Hospital, Chicago, after a short illness.
He lived at 1650 Waukegan Road, Glenview, Ill.
Mr. Prettyman was born in Delaware City and had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Prettyman, Rochester, N.Y., a son, Allen J., Rochester; his father, Harold B. Prettyman Sr., Strickersville, Pa.; three brothers, James A., Strickersville, Harold B. Jr., Newark, and William H., Odessa; four sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Garret, Holly Oak Terrace, Mrs. Francis Sutton, St. Georges, Mrs. Everett Brown, Delaware City, and Mrs. Richard Gliniak, Bear.
Services will be this afternoon at 2 from the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 24th and Market Sts., with interment in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1925 Lovering Ave.
