Edwin A. Davis, 87, of St. Marys, WV, passed away, February 15, 2018, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born, April 24, 1930, in Williamstown, WV, a son of the late Charles and Helen Rowell Davis.

Eddie was a graduate of St. Marys High School, and was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. He was retired from the Pleasants County Schools, as Director of Transportation. He started the school bus garage, which was dedicated to him in 1995. He was a member of the St. Marys Volunteer Fire Department for many years, where he had served as Fire Chief. He was a member of the WV State School Bus Standards Committee. This committee inspected the state’s school buses. He was the St. Marys High School Alumnus of the year in 1993, and was a 50 year member of the St. Marys Lodge #41 A. F. & A. M. His hobbies included boating, camping, repairing things, and traveling.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Thelma Frashuer Davis, children, Deborah (Gary) Hunt of Dayton, OH, Terrie (Doug) Piersol of Marietta, OH, and Jerry (Evelyn) Davis of St. Marys, WV, grandchildren, Garrett Hunt, Nathan Hunt, Brett Piersol, Gina Davis Houser, and Jared Davis, thirteen great grandchildren, sister, Ruth (Bob) Sweaney of Williamsburg, VA, and three nephews, Richard (Brenda) Davis of St. Marys, WV, Brian (Dean) Sweaney of Mechanicsville, VA, and Rob (Terry) Sweaney of Williamsburg, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Davis, Ralph Davis, and Robert Davis.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 2 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys, WV, with Pastor Clare Sulgit officiating. Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery.
