Steve was born in Loudon on July 11, 1966 to Cledith Welch and Billie Marie Packett Welch. He attended Lenoir City High School where he was a stand out athlete for the Lenoir City Panthers, which lead him to coach for many years for LCYFO.
Steve was an avid deer hunter and a successful race car driver at the local dirt tracks where he and his three sons won two track championships. He was a skilled tradesman in the electrical field and was employed by Buford Electric.
Preceded in death by his parents, Cledith Welch and Billie Marie Packett Welch. He is survived by his three sons, Jordan Gregory (Demi) of Knoxville, Cody Welch of Knoxville, and Austin Welch of Rising Sun, IN; grandson, Wyatt; sister, Karen Welch of Vonore; fiance`, Jennifer Babin and her children, Matthew and Chelsea of Tellico Village; niece, Kristin Hewitt (Jack) of Madisonville; great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel.
