Dana was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, LaFollette, TN. He was a retired Sergant Major of the 278th Armored Calvary Regiment.
A 39 year veteran, serving in World War II, the Korean War and retiring from the Tennessee Army National Guard in December 1981. Dana also retired from Union Carbide Corp. in December 1983 after 31 years of service.
Dana was married to the late Faye Heatherly of LaFollette for 51 years and was widowed for the past 21 years in which he enjoyed the friendship of Naomi King. He was a loving husband and dedicated father. He took great pride in his service to his country and meticulously grooming his house and farm.
Dana was an avid golfer and quite accomplished at this craft. He loved his children and grandchildren, and beamed with great joy while playing with his great-grandchildren. In his later years, he especially enjoyed going to church and fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ at cedar Hill Baptist Church.
The children of Dana would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you for the care given their father, for the past year by the Professional Case Management and Amedysis Hospice.
He is survived by his three children, his daughter, Dana Faye Bell and husband Larry of Knoxville, TN; son, Ronnie and wife Kathy of Lafollette, TN; son, Terry and wife Donna of Philadelphia, TN; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with a celebration of Dana’s life to be held at 7:00 PM with son, Pastor Ronnie Arnold officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:00 PM Monday at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery for graveside services with full military honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
