Ralph Henry "Dick" Burrell, 88 of Clayton passed away April 1, 2007 after a short illness. Dick was born in Rabun County August 26, 1918 the son of the late V.M. Burrell Sr. and Lelia Cannon Burrell. Dick grew up in Rabun County Georgia, joined the army and served his nation during WWII were he received a purple heart for wounds he received in battle. After returning from the war he worked for the Clayton Ice and Coal Company for many years. He was a member of Clayton Baptist Church. He married his Sweetheart Bertha Ellen Gragg on December 18, 1937. They had two Children one daughter Joyce Burrell Kastner and Husband J.A. of Clayton; one son Henry Burrell and wife Emily of Clayton; Five grand Children; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; he is also survived by two sisters Ruth Burrell Childers, Mary Burrell Shedd both of Clayton; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother V.M. Burrell Jr.; four sisters Mertice McClure, Olabelle Scruggs, Dorothy Church, Ethel Burrell. The Family will receive friends Monday April 2, 2007 at Beck Funeral Home from 7 until 9 PM. Funeral services will be 2:00 Pm Tuesday April 3, 2007 in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. James Turpen officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park with Rev. Waymond Lundsford
