Cathy V. Price Our mother and grandmother, Cathy V. Price, left our presence on Monday, January 19, 2009 but she will never leave our hearts. While preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas O. Price, their children and grandchildren are her legacy: son, Thomas J. Price (Terri), Judith A. Mindlin (Bruce), Janice M. Davis (Tim), and grandchildren, Kelley Price Gloria (David), Barry Price Steinbrecher (Corey), Brittney Price, Sean and Katie Mindlin and Nick and Mary Rose Davis. Cathy was born Maria Catalina to Jose and Maria Valenzuela on September 23, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona. She grew up with siblings, Theresa, Joe and Antonio and graduated from Tucson High School in 1949. Known as "Cata" to many, she led a very active life in the Tucson community. Cathy was a member of the Twenty Teens, The Arco Iris, Gay Senoritas, and the Viejos Amigos clubs. She was active in the Marine Corps League and volunteered at Tucson Medical Center. Cathy was a charter member and devoted parishoner of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. She made a career in the University of Arizona's Athletic Department. Cathy leaves us now, to join her parents, her husband, her twin sister, Maria Antonia; her brother, Joe and her many friends; we thank God for the joyful reunion they will have. Cathy faced all the challenges of her life with a deep and abiding faith, and by her example, she taught us that faith is a source of comfort and strength. She was the core of our family and will be deeply missed. She showed us how to live with joy and we will love and treasure her forever. Services for Cathy will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church; a Rosary in her honor will be on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009.
