Lake Arthur: A Mass of Christian burial for Eula Mae Roy, 81, of Lake Arthur, LA will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, LA on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of her Funeral Mass. Eula will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery.
Eula was born in Gueydan, LA on August 24, 1936 to Obray Abshire and Nita Simon Abshire and was called to her Heavenly Father on February 14, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. Eula was a homemaker who dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She loved to sew, crochet and read. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Eula was a kind and loving person, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Eula is survived by her beloved husband, James David Roy of Lake Arthur, LA; her four sons, James Roy of Katy, TX, Charles Roy of Lake Arthur, LA, Larry Roy (Dayna) of Galveston, TX, Blaise Roy of Baton Rouge, LA; her thirteen grandchildren, Courtney, Joshua, Matthew, Zachary, Victoria, Corey, Whitnie, Lindsie, Mary, Sarah, Leyton, Jordon, Joby; as well as her sixteen great-grandchildren.
Eula is preceded in death by her parents, Obray and Nita Abshire; her two sons, Tony Roy, Robin Roy.
