Eric is the son of Mary Collins (Gene), Beaufort, S.C. and Danny Rogers (Nancy) Jacksonville. He is survived by two daughters, Trinity and Bailey Rogers, Trinidad, Tx; one son, Dylan Scruggs, Athens, Tx; and one brother, Tracy (Brenda), nephew, Logan, and niece, Olivia of Columbia Falls, MT; Grandmother, Helen Zeigler of Rincon, GA and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A man of many skills, he was a carpenter and artist and an avid NASCAR fan. Throughout his long struggle, Eric never lost his wonderful sense of humor and concern for others. His last wishes were to go to the Texas State Fair one more time, put his feet in the Atlantic Ocean one more time and visit the STatue of Liberty. He did it all.
Eric's life was enriched by the tender and loving care of his special friends, Jon and Janet Doherty (whom he fondly referred to as his "other mother") and all those who so unselfishly cared for him in his times of need.
A gathering of his many friends was held Sunday, February 18 in Jacksonville. Eric requested that any memorials be made to the Mission, 209 S. Patton Street, Jacksonville, Tx 75766.
