Graveside services for Bernice Turner, 79, of Bakersfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Bakersfield Cemetery. She will lie in state from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains.
Mrs. Turner died Feb. 15 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains.
She was born Jan. 28, 1939, in Fulton County, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Burlin and Nellie Mae Robins Sanders. She attended Bakersfield High School, and on Aug. 10, 1956, at Desoto, Mississippi, she married Mayford Turner. She operated a dairy farm with her husband for many years; Mrs. Turner loved being a homemaker and was an excellent cook, making the best family dinners.
She is survived by two children, John Turner and wife, Karla, Caulfield, Missouri and Devon Pendergrass and husband, Neal, Mountain Home, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Justin Turner and wife, Andrea, Kent Turner, Carlissa McGahan and husband, Chase, Wesley Pendergrass and Turner Pendergrass and wife, Emily; one great-grandchild, Scarlett Turner; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, who died Oct. 31, 1986.
