Funeral service for John Wesley Fultz will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Pratt officiating.
Burial will follow in Elgin Memorial Lawn, Elgin, Oklahoma.
The family will greet friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
John Wesley Fultz, age 85, Lawton, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born March 17, 1932 in Kewanee, Illinois to Loyed Wesley and Goldie Fultz. He grew up in Kewanee and was a graduate of Kewanee High School. He later attended Bible College and earned his bachelor’s degree. He married Gwendolyn Liggett and the couple later divorced. He then married Edna Mae Sharp on July 1, 1978. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2013.
John pastored various churches until 1972 and then went into the real estate and banking business. He owned various rental properties and at one time had been the head of the mortgage department at Home Savings & Loan. He was a member of Lawton First Assembly and led the senior citizens group at Post Oak Mennonite Brethren Church in Indiahoma.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Loyed and Sheri Fultz, Newalla, Oklahoma, and David and Leah Fultz, Lawton; his step daughters and their spouses, Debra and Bill Murray, Edmond, Oklahoma, and Michael and Sheila McClung, Advance Mills, Virginia; his grandchildren and their spouses, Whitney and Jeff Foster, Courtney and Tim Plaster, Britney and Michael Farris, Melanie and Taylor Pruitt, Kyle and Kayla Fultz, Amber and Jon Reeves, Aaron Applewhite, Ashley and Justin Weems, Elizabeth Murray, Honor Mae McClung, Jadzia Mae McClung, Craig McClung and Sheldon McClung; his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Bryce, Ashton, Lila, Melissa, Bailey, Dakota, Kendall, Jovie, Landry, Hadley, Kylar, Kensley, Hunter and a soon to be born great grandchild; a great great grandson, Chase; his brother, James Fultz; and two sisters, Naomi Brignadello and Martha Moutz.
His parents, two great grandchildren, Rylan and Lawson, his daughter-in-law, Renee’ Fultz, and his sister, Mary Miller, preceded him in death.
