Johnny Edwin Cook, 84, of Franklin, husband of Inez Landers Cook died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Pruitt Health and Rehab in Franklin.
Born in Carroll County, May 9, 1933, he was a son of the late Tommy and Lizzie Dean Cook. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Germany in the 1950's where he received a National Defense Medal. Mr. Cook formerly owned and operated Cook Contractors for over twenty years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He had attended Franklin Family Worship.
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Cook; one sister; and one brother.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty years are three sons, Mike Cook and fiancée Linda Carol Denny of Franklin, Mark Cook and wife Diane of Moreland and Mitchell Cook of Newnan; a grandson raised in the home, Michael Cook and wife Bridget of Franklin and seven other grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, James Cook and wife Sylvia; and a sister, Virginia Webb, both of Carrollton.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel, 38 Jackson Street, with Rev. Richard Hampson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
