PUGH, Edna Mae McRoberts, affectionately known as "Susie," recently resided in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and quietly passed into spirit February 8, 2018. She was 90. She left this world the way in which she lived, with gentle grace and dignity. Alzheimer's could not take that away from this beautiful soul. Susie married her high school sweetheart, William "Bill" Pugh. They were married for 67 years. She was the loving and dedicated mother to six children Jonathan, Craig, Stephen, Claire Ann, Robert and Graham. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and four dear great-grandchildren; sadly, she was predeceased by her 22-year old grandson, Graham Stevenson. She is also survived by a sister, June Zimmer; she was predeceased by another sister, Eleanor McMillin. Susie is being cremated and after Bill passes, they will be buried together in a dual ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery. She was the rock anchoring her family throughout her life. She accompanied and greatly supported Bill as a true partner during his 31-year Air Force career. He was a fighter pilot for much of that time. There were many moves and separations, including a year apart when he was flying very dangerous combat missions during the Vietnam War. Through it all, Susie was a strong and steady foundation, devoted to her family, and this never changed. Susie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her legacy is love. Hear me as I whisper, Softly in your ears, Love is always and forever, Cry for me no tears.
