Mr. Stephen Bowman Jr., was the youngest son of the late Stephen Thomas and Rosa lee Andrews Bowman. He was born August 11,1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Steve as he was call by his friends, was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System including Crispus Attucks High School, where he was one of the first male Cheerleaders.
At a early age he professed a hope in Christ and was baptized. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of North Indianapolis.
In 1954 at the age of 19, Steve joined the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged In 1958. In January of 1960 Steve took a bride Celester Fishback Burton where they enjoyed 44 years marriage. Through the years they enjoyed bowling and traveling cross-country.
On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, Steve was called home. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. Steve was preceded in death by his wife Celester, his parents Stephen and Rosa Lee Bowman, and his brother William Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, a daughter two sisters, four grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 " So we are always confident, knowing that while we are in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
