DeVota "Dee" Marie (Barker) Bennett was born on November 24, 1935, to Ira and Evelyn Barker. She was the youngest of eight children.

Dee's father passed away days after her birth, and she was raised by her mother until she also passed away when Dee was 14 years old.

Velma and Robert Fulwiler became Dee's foster parents and welcomed her into their family, becoming permanent fixtures in her life.

At the age of 18, Dee moved to Texas and married her husband, Arthur Lee Bennett, Sr., on June 6, 1954.

Dee's placement in foster care had a profound impact on her life. She went on to raise her own children, as well as providing a loving home for countless foster children, friends, and family members. No matter her own circumstances, no child was ever turned away. This passion extended to Dee's ministry as she spent her summers running the Malaga Bible Camp.

Dee passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2017, with her husband and family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Arthur Lee Bennett, Sr., their six children, ten grand children, and five great grand children, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at View Ridge Community Church, 4800 Dogwood Drive, Everett, Washington.

Arrangements under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett, WA.
