Aubra Lyle Barnes, 77, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis and a former resident of Whiteland.

He was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Russell Springs, Ky., to William Ethel and Mattie (Harmon) Barnes. He married Maerean Pittman on Oct. 9, 1952. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Steven Lyle Barnes and Michael Allen Barnes; five daughters, Judith Elaine Barnes, Kathy Ann Catt, Marsha Lynn Barnes, Paula Barnes and Jessica Barnes; two brothers; four sisters; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by an infant son, Michael Dwayne Barnes.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was a member of Grace Assembly of God in Whiteland.

Mr. Barnes owned and operated Barnes Furniture Store in Greenwood and Franklin from 1963 to 1987.

Aubra treasured the blessings of being surrounded by his family and friends. He enjoyed talking with others and sharing his faith.
