Gerald D. Golden, was 93 years of age when he passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Effie (Logan) Golden; and brother, Virgil.

He married Doris Ellis on May 10, 1970 at Graham United Methodist Church, Rice; she preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1989. He then married Catherine "Katie" Carlson on Feb. 16, 2002 at First Baptist Church in Little Falls. He farmed and ranched in his early years in Kansas and Nebraska, and moved to Rice with his parents and brother Virgil in 1956. The family started the Golden Tree Farm in 1958. He was an active member of the Minnesota Tree Growers Association. Gerald enjoyed visiting with the many customers who came to buy Christmas trees each year. He was a member of Grace Baptist Fellowship where he served as a church deacon and treasurer. Gerald enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. His greatest joy though was spending time with his grandchildren.
