Billy Gene “Bill” Hutchison, of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed away February 9, 2018, at the age of 80. He was born October 6, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Otis Willie & Hazel Irene (Bell) Hutchison.

Bill enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales, auctions, and doing leather work. He also enjoyed cooking and was known for his carrot cake. Bill enjoyed the Oklahoma City Thunder and he was an OU Sooner fan. He enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, the Hallmark Channel, and the Black and White Classics. Bill attended Capitol Hill High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1956. He heard his country’s call and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he received an Honorable Discharge for services rendered to his country when called upon to do so. Bill was a butcher most of his working career and retired from Wilson Foods, where he retired after 35 years of service. Bill never met a stranger and had a witty sense of humor and a zest for life.He had a kind and loving heart, and loved people.He enjoyed wildlife and fishing. Bill also enjoyed traveling and going to the lake. His first love was being with his wife, Carolyn, the love of his life for 43 years, spending time with his children and grandchildren. After Carolyn’s passing, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his companion, Virginia Lee Thompson.

Bill is survived by 1 son, Michael Hutchison & wife, Patti O’Ross Hutchinson, of Newalla; 2 daughters, Cynthia Williams & husband, Steven, of Oklahoma City and Renee Candalino & husband, David, of Vienna, West Virginia; and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Hutchison; and companion, Virginia Lee Thompson.

Funeral Services for Bill will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 15, 2018, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, in Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
