Angela was the wife of Carl Schaefer. They immigrated to the US from Trier Germany in 1854 with their four children: Peter, Catherine, Eva and Jacob. First they settled in Naperville Illinois, then moved to Sublete, Illinois. In 1867 Peter purchased land in Orange Township in Black Hawk County Iowa and at some point Carl and his wife moved there also. The register of death for Black Hawk County states she was 85 years old at death and had been a housekeeper. It states she died of Influenza.
