Paul was born on February 18, 1928, in Kewanee, the son of Walter and Ruby (Hawkins) Adkins. He married Irene Reische on May 8, 1955 in Kewanee; she preceded him in death on September 18, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Smith of Wyoming, IL, and Jill (George) Cleveland of Cedar Rapids, IA; one son, Scott Adkins of Kewanee; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Dick) Welty of Galesburg; and a very special friend, Pat Griggs of Galva.
A private burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Kewanee.
