Cora Bell Melton Roberson, 80, of Waycross died Wednesday (June 18, 2003) at her residence after a brief illness.
She was a native of Brantley County although she had lived in Waycross for most of her life and she was of the Assembly of God faith.
Her parents were the late Dorce and Emma Howell Melton, she was also preceded in death by a daughter Shirley Roberson and brother, Floyd Melton, six sisters, Sulie, Polly, Ocie, Goldie, Tish, and Nora Bell.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Cora Roberson Wilson (Steve), Waycross; three sons, David Roberson (Jeanette), Waycross, Herman Roberson (Diane), Brunswick, Charles Roberson, Elm City, S.C.; two half-sisters, Eloise Rouse, Waycross, Evelyn Shubert, Waycross; three half-brothers, Emory Melton, Waycross, Ed Melton, Waycross, Mac Melton, Brantley County, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Chapel of Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Gordan, Tony Roberson, Kenneth Roberson, Stacy Roberson, Talmadge Roberson and Butch Roberson. Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
