Courtney Duane Jones was a decorated USMC Veteran who served during the Korean War in the 1950's. After the war Duane lived a full and adventurous life and was dearly loved by his family and friends. Many of his adventures took place by traveling all over the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Holy Lands. He also enjoyed camping and spending time on the lake with his boat. Model trains and coins collections were also some of the things he took delight in. In later years he served as a Deccan for the College Road Baptist Church in Occala Florida as well as volunteered for the local Hospice Hospitals in Ocala, FL with his second wife Shirley. Duane was proceeded in death by his first wife, Marguerite Abbott, and survived by his second wife, Shirley Volt, sisters Martha (Bob) Johnson and Helen (Daniel) Charleston, step daugther Debi (Dean) Campbell and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1100 AM at College Road Baptist Church at 5010 SW Highway 200, Ocala, FL 34474. Roberts Funeral Homes West Chapel made the arrangements. Duane was laid to rest with his first wife Marguerite Abbott in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Note: Courtney Duane's first wife was Louisa May King. They wed in San Diego, California, in 1952, and were married for a very brief time. One daughter resulting, Betty Ann Jones, b. 1947. Louisa died in 2003 in Napoleonville, Assumption, Louisiana. Unknown what became of their daughter, Betty.
