Irene Viola Hacker, 102, formerly of 2013 Tighman St., Allentown passed away peacefully with her daughter Beverly and son-in-law Darryl at her side on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in her residence at the Phoebe Home. She was the widow of Alfred A. "Al" Hacker. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia Ifkowitz.
Irene was for many years a banquet waitress at the former Lehigh Valley Club. Previously she was a crossing guard on Tilghman Street near the Muhlenberg Elementary School and a sewer at the former Phoenix Clothes. Irene was a member of the former St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridge Ave., Allentown and a volunteer at the Phoebe Home for many years.
Survivors: Daughter, Beverly H. wife of Darryl A. Breniser of Denver, PA; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Viola Irene Schaffer and her sister, Margaret Sweeny.
Funeral Service Thursday, at 2 P.M. in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th & Hamilton Sts., Allentown.
